Hobbyhorse, a mini kitchen on wheels for instant barbecuing
Radhicka S Saxena:
A kitchen island cum cabinet on wheels, this adorable cooking space is the creation of a UK based freelance designer, Philip Appleton. Dubbed as Hobbyhorse, this mini kitchen has a countertop and a chopping board with a hole drilled in. The hole serves as a trash can and compost bin. The red block with a knob is a drawer. While, the orange block holds a pot in which herbs can be grown.
The woody finish from top to bottom with colorful blocks fitted inside, gives it a rustic look. It will easily blend in relaxed or country style homes. In fact, it is a great addition to any holiday home like a seaside cottage or a farmhouse. There is ample of storage space in this mini kitchen as the bottom half is a cabinet. You can hoard non perishables like pickles, pastas, instant noodles, jams, tea, coffee and milk powder that you need in your holiday home over here.
Wheel it to your garden and cook in the open air. This is a great piece to have around the house if you like throwing a bash in your lawn, yard or poolside. Veering it around will not be a problem as the wheels are designed to facilitate a smooth motion. Make and serve drinks, barbecue meats or grill vegetables on the mobile kitchen anywhere inside the house. Steer it in front of your television to watch your favorite soap and cook at the same time.
Moreover, the piece is extremely sturdy. The top slab is polished slate which can be cleaned very easily. Plywood and cheery wood are used to construct the main body of the kitchen. The handle of the compost tray is made of brass while the wheels are of aluminum. The pot for holding herbs is of thermoplastic and plywood used on the top has a melamine finish.
